Help out the Hub.

Greetings, Hubkins! I will be as transparent as possible with this post.

Managing a community fan site like this has become a huge undertaking, and due to changing circumstances, I am unable to spend as much time creating content for the website. I truly appreciate those of you who have remained active on the forums and I hope to see the community continue to grow, however, the Hub needs the community in order to stay alive.

I am reaching out for volunteers who are passionate about Paralives, The Paralives Hub, and wish to see the website stick around, or even help it thrive.

The Paralives Hub does not receive any support from external sources, and as such the only way to bring traffic and potential new members to the community is through news articles. It is also necessary that the site generates traffic from external sources due to the fact that running a website of this size has increasing financial requirements that are only partly funded by ad revenue. Traffic to the site has significantly dropped in recent months, mostly due to the fact I am unable to write as often and cover all the Paralives news. As a result, I am required to fund the site myself, which isn’t sustainable.

If you are passionate about Paralives, enjoy writing and content creation, and would like to be involved in the largest Paralives fan site, we would love to hear from you! Click here to apply to be a writer

I have spent many hours building this website, HOWEVER, I did not create this website to make money. Websites like this just aren’t profitable. (Trust me, I’m a professional web developer and have worked in this industry for over 10 years)

I started the Hub the very moment I learned about Paralives back in June 2019 because I was so excited about the game and I had the skills to help promote it. I wanted to see the game succeed! Obviously, nothing is free in this world, and websites like this need money to stay alive. Any revenue earned so far has gone directly into improving this awesome website.

I am personally against adding a donation button, however, I would like to hear your thoughts about this in the comments. Do you think it’s worth adding a donation button?

Stay safe out there,

  1. I am surprised you didn’t reach out for help sooner. I have grown up using these forum like websites and no one person can do these on their own. Paralives is getting more popular as days go by and it is showing in here. No doubt the member numbers are rising here as well. I did notice the lack of moderation in the forums before and I am happy some order will be brought. I do not have the time to help with moderation but I can help with writing if there isn’t enough applicants but I think there will be. There are many people in this forum who are way more active than me and has the time to do it. If additional writers needed I can help of course.

    1. Thank you! I am currently working on some online forms so folks can submit their applications. I will let you know when they are ready.

  2. Thank you for the feedback! For what its worth, I would never consider adding a subscription option to the website. It will always be free for the Paralives community.

I’m currently setting up some forms for moderators and writers to apply to so I will get back to you soon. Thank you for your interest!
