Wishes and Realistic Animations, Autonomousy and Interactions
Posted by h2oQueen on April 23, 2020 at 8:44 amSo, I love storytelling in the sims, however the biggest let down with sims is whims, the whims are only available for the present, not the future.
I want to have an option that I can enable wishes, what the sim wants in the future, kids or no kids, rent a home or share or perhaps be a sim that never settles somewhere particular.
Can Paralives team please help the storytellers and have options that had diversity and depth that we can connect with them.
Also, we need a way realistic animations, when a sim sits on a couch they lay down whilst watching, if watching a movie they may get popcorn or ice cream etc. Cozy up together on the bed, relax, watch tv together etc.
If they are bored they get active, parafolks autonomously hug or pat on the back if sad or dance with their partner.
Thank you

I don’t mind having short time wants for things in the present, but what I especially would like to see more than anything are specific wishes for the future. Like if a Para has given birth to a son as their first child, they get the desire to have a daughter for their second child, just as an example. Or maybe they’ll only want sons. Perhaps a Para could get the desire to adopt a child instead of it just being decided by the player. Those are things I hope to see.

It’s something many of CRPG games have. For example, when you leave your character idling, they will look around, scratch their shoulder, fold arms on their chest, and so on. It is A LOT of work for animators but it adds a lot to realism.
I think if it turns out to be too much for the dev team (which would be absolutely understandable, we’ve piled so many ideas on these poor guys already!) such animations could be done by custom content creators after the game’s release. All we really need is some sort of an in game system that would make random changing of animations possible.

Without them, I think the game could feel pretty lifeless.
