What kind of community lots do you want?

I want parks (many types, fully forested too), book stores, schools, a place where it is visible how your horse races with the others, aquapark, in paranormal update/expansion magic stores. Would be also kinda cool to have a mall where there can conventions happen. -

I really would love to see non-rabbit hole theme parks were we can take the whole family out for a day of fun. It might be a lot of work though, so it probably wouldn’t come in the initial release.
For rabbit holes, my immediate thoughts are things like zoos, movie theaters, restaurants, aquariums, city hall, fitness centers, arcades, and sports stadiums. Again, likely not all of this would make it into the final game, but a few of them would be nice to see.

I honestly wanna see non-rabbit holes community lots, I’m not really for rabbit holes full on, though i can understand for the base game and such but not indefinitely. Because I feel it limits me to be at home all the time if there’s no need to take a para out and socialize if that makes sense?
I’d like to see:
Forests that you can explore,hike through,and camp out at filled with different woodland animals which could come in the future in an update.
Public parks like Central Park having lakes you can paddle boat on,feeds ducks, and swim in.
Malls with many stores to buy from and go in.
Movie theatres
Opera theatres
Spas
Farmer’s Market
Hotels and dingy motels
Corner stores (like 7 Eleven)
Corporations that would act as a place to get business advice, get a lawyer, and apply for jobs/go to job interviews,etc.Arts & Crafts Store
Car dealerships
Funeral homes i know this might not be everyone’s cup of tea but i think if we are to have funeral events this could be an alternate location to have a funeral at or memorial service if not graveyards

Coffee shops would be great. Fully implemented, though. I want my Paras to order coffee, choose a seat, sit down and chat with other Paras, perhaps use a computer. Or, if my Paras want some coffee on the go, they can keep it while doing other stuff (like driving, using a computer, etc). Perhaps the coffee would have to “disappear” for a moment while doing an interaction that doesn’t include a scenario where the para is holding a drink, but i don’t want the coffee to disappear forever. What’s the point in ordering a coffee/whatever if the para gets rid of it at the next interaction (looking at you, Sims 3 bars).
Funny thing is, I don’t even drink coffee! Ha!

Parks where different activities spawn on the lot depending on the season (if there are seasons) to make the lot function as a sort of festival (like in The Sims 3 Seasons). For example, for winter: ice skating rink, craft station to make things like paper snowflakes that paras can take home and use a decoration, hot chocolate stand/food truck. Things like that but for every season. I really enjoy having activities like this for my household to do together.

I would really like to create that “town” or “neighborhood feeling again like the Sims 2 and 3 even if that means we can’t freely move between towns like in the Sims 4. Standard lots would include:
City Hall (police department and courts included and a rabbit hole most likely)
Bank (to get loans, check finances like mortgages, and check investments…and also to work at) – RH
Parks (might have seasonal festivals here)

It would also be interesting to be able to zone specific parts of properties and make a hybrid commercial and residential which would be helpful for small businesses. -
I would love if there were clubs that weren’t just full of young adults and adults (or elders if you like to party no matter the age :)) but also teenagers. To get into some clubs you’d have to be a young adult but teens could get fake IDs.
Carnivals. I cannot express how much I love carnivals, no matter if they are brasilian carneval or pust (I am sorry I don’t know the English translation for that I guess you’d call it just carnival. In the legends it was created to scare the winter away. Anyway you mask yourself and put on a costume and go from house to house collecting money and sweet but the carnival itself is amazing. They are amazing because people can come up with so many different costumes). or any other that you know of, maybe paras worlds could have their own unique carnivals.

Competitions – musicians (bands, singers), art, sports
Considering this are events (except the club, which could also host events :)), I wanted to write about them here because they would be happening on community lots. Most Festivals and such could be happening around the town, maybe even on the streets.
What do you think? Do you have any additional ideas?

Aside from the obvious ones… (parks, cafes, restaurants, library, gym, pool, playgrounds, pet playgrounds, city hall, police/fire department etc)
I’d like to see:
Farmer’s Market (I think a lot with stalls that sell various home grown fruits/vegetables and home made foods would be really cool for our Parafolk…and I think you could set up a stall on the lot yourself and sell whatever you’ve grown/made)
Circus/Carnival (Probably not in the base game although I wouldn’t mind a tent that was a rabbit hole and some “Carnival” items we could place outside it)
Pier (I was thinking it would be cool if there was a special lot that was a pier, so we could place buildings and objects on a pier over the sea)

This thread has so many great ideas. I really hope we’ll get a nice variety of community lots.
I thought of another one that would be cool to have. An indoor children’s play center would be very nice. I know it’s confirmed there will be parks, but I think it would be nice to have an indoor environment to bring your kids to if it’s too rainy or other bad weather is preventing Parafolk from playing outside.
The play center could be kind of like Chuck E Cheese in concept and could function as a rabbbithole (I think this could work as an open building, but I think a rabbithole is simpler and more likely). Parents could bring their children (babies though pre-teens) and they’d play inside for as long as they want. It could possibly cost money to go (maybe per number of kids). It could also be a great place to schedule kid’s parties.

I had this thought that it could be cool to have an aquarium lot that you have to place alongside the sea (so it’s like half land, half sea) and you can build the aquarium in such a way that parafolk can view fish in the sea.
It’s like, you know in Pokemon Black and White where there was that underwater tunnel you could walk through and see all the sealife above you.
Also in general I feel like it would be kinda neat to have underwater lots, that’s probably for an expansion pass though. Like if they added mermaids they could have a technology vs nature theme and have sci-fi underwater domes and also natural “mermaid” habitats. I’m not sure if that would be feasible but it would be cool.

I think you’re referring to the Marine Tube, which is actually in BW2 iirc. It would be very cool to have an aquarium like that in Paralives. It wouldn’t have to be relegated to a rabbit hole since it should make use of the already existing bodies of water in the game. I’d love something like that.

I hope to see a park filled with obstacle courses for kids+adults. During the summer to have an ice-cream truck drive through to enjoy and cool down.
I also hope they introduce trycles for the little ones and bycles with training wheels for parents to have the opportunity to teach their kids how to ride their bikes

I agree that some places would need to be ‘rabbit holes’ but I think we’d have more places to interact if we weren’t stuck with our ‘bodily functions’ all the time-which I get totally bored with. Who takes an hour to eat or potty break? We spent so much time with bodily functions that there was no time to have any fun.
I made up a kids play area (for teens and adults too) lot where there was plenty to do for them. I had video games, photo booth, tv area for movies or games.

It would be super awesome if in base game or a later patch/dlc that para’s can purchase the local stores, or maybe an empty store space and build a store to sell their crafts. It would be cool if a mechanic para could actually work up his/her skill and open their own garage, and then update and move their garage. Or have a very business savvy para work their way up the corporate ladder, maybe law firms would be neat, or banks. Maybe a local para chef finally has the courage to open up her very own pastry shop? Let’s say a school tutor or maybe a vocal coach wants a small office collaboration space to work with their clients? Maybe they’re a photographer or online marketing consultant and they need the collaboration space, or a small work area as well.
Any sort of Shops, Cafe’s, Restaurants, Maybe a food truck or two in the city, a spa, salon, photography studio, bars, karaoke bars, arcades, malls, strip malls, multishop lots, would all be super awesome, too! (:

These are all great business ideas! It would be interesting if we could combine the different skills, activities and objects to come up with new businesses. Anything a Para can do or use can be turned into a business. The possibilities would be endless ☺️

Everyone’s ideas are amazing! Here is just a few I could think of:
Hardware Store – Where you can buy parts to repair or upgrade items in your home, even paint for painting your walls, mowers for your lawn, gardening supplies & plants etc.)
Flea Market – Where you can sell and purchase unique homemade items (paintings, sculptures, customized furniture, clothing, accessories, inventions etc.)
Farmer’s Market – A place to buy and sell home grown fruits, vegetables, honey from beekeeping skill, jams and vegetable preserves, wine from a “nectar making” skill, homemade artisan bread, raw milk, butter & cheese from milking cows or goats.
Animal Shelter & Pet Shoppe – A place to adopt a pet, a vet for when they are sick and a place to purchase toys and animal feed.
Shopping Mall – A place with stores for clothing & accessories, an electronics store for buying televisions, speakers & instruments for hobbies, an entertainment store for books, music & movies to watch, a multicultural food court with restaurants and more!
Academy – A K-12 school for children & teens that could perhaps be a rabbithole, but maybe have an indoor basketball court and an outdoor football/soccer field that you can visit for your children’s sporting & cheerleading events.
Delicatessen – A place to buy meats for cooking & where you can sell your farm animals if you have too many.
I have far too many ideas but thank you for listening!

i basically want to live like a hermit like i do now, deep into the woods. i want a cutting wood option like fabel, squirrel watching, fishing, hiking, all the usual introvert activities…i want a pet cow.
