Toggle for elmentary Schools having a cafertia or not
Posted by MagaCarter on January 14, 2021 at 11:12 pmFor when we have CAW world tool. Someone else had suggested in the past that there’s a toggle for deciding whether preteens and early teens to go to middle-school or still stay at the elementary school.
This idea of mine is similar to that but in the idea of a cafeteria at the elementary school. That there should be a toggle on whether the elementary school has a cafeteria or not.

Curious, why? I’ve not heard of any school that didn’t have a cafeteria. I mean, I guess Paralives is just a game so it doesn’t have to be realistic, I’m just interested because I’ve not heard of a school with no place to eat.

Because at the time the elementary school I grew up in was built (in the 50s).. people mostly went home for lunch. I don’t know what the excuse is for the school which now sits on the same land as my school-but just from looking at the size of it-I don’t think there’s a cafeteria in it either. So I either ate in a classroom (whether mine’s, a kindergarten room in Gr. 7 and 8, or in the music room when I was out in the portables in Gr.4-5) or I ate at home (Gr.1-3). Also everyone’s version of “being realistic” is different. My reality is that cafeterias shouldn’t be part of elementary schools because that how’s I grew up.

That’s interesting. I’d never heard of schools without a cafeteria on ground. When you put it like that it sounds like a cool idea to represent schools of a different time period.

It would be nice to have the option to toggle, because people could create what they are used to. I think always having a cafeteria is a American thing. Not sure. In the Netherlands were I grew up most schools did not have a cafeteria. Kids went home for lunch, or brought their food from home and ate it in the classroom. And in Aruba for example most kids only have school until 1pm and then go home.

I’ve always had a cafeteria, but it would be nice to have the option to bring your own lunch. Maybe get a “home cooked meal” moodlet.

or if there’s fast food nearby a “I feel grown up” for para kids who go get their own lunches and bring them back to school?
