Steam log-in to play?
January 12, 2020 at 10:58 amDoes anyone know if we will need to log in to Steam every time in order to play the game? This is one of the reasons I don’t play TS4 – needing to log in to Origin.
I’m asking because I recently bought a game from Steam and the first couple of times I played without login in, but now I need to – I haven’t played since so I kind of wasted my money.

Since it’s an offline game you shouldn’t have to log into steam. When you launch a steam game offline it usually tries to log in and then comes up with an error message along the lines of “Failed to log into your Steam account. Launch in offline mode?”.
Also, can you really not play Sims offline? I’ve never tried before, that kinda sucks.

you can’t access the gallery if you not “online”… and even if you just click the Sims 4 icon and be taking to the game without it making you log into Origin and if you want to use the gallery you have to be online

I mean that makes sense though, unless you want to download the entire library to your local drive.

Thank you Jinxin for your reply. I thought I read somewhere that it was an offline game which is one of the reasons I’m excited for this game. I hope that doesn’t change.
With TS4, I believe (don’t quote me) you have to log in and then choose “offline” if you don’t want to be logged in the whole time, but you do have to log in to open/start the game. There was a debate on their forums whether or not this was an offline game – I say “not”.
