I was here thinking. “The you know what” games usually lack ways to try to play a life that is necessarily not the dream/rich life everyone dreams of having, (everyone automatically having touch screen phones kinda breaks immersion in that matter etc.) so it would be nice in my opinion if the game had the means to simulate also not-so-cool kind of life

Perhaps implementing living completely without home lot would be a bit hard, I don’t know – but you know, option to start without any funds for example, in an tiny empty lot etc. Being able to find stuff from some rubbish bins and not having automatically super tech devises implemented on para’s pockets, like you have to buy them if you want them – also some cheap/torn apart looking furniture, wall textures to make run down looking shacks.

And now that im on this topic, it would be cool for example if you dont pay bills on time/skip paying too long, it cuts the electricity from the house, one idea more. =)

  • I use cheats to approximate this kind of gameplay in you-know-which. I like some of those ideas though! Digging through rubbish bins would be appropriate realistic gameplay for this kind of story. Having to buy phones is an idea I’ve seen here and there, and I support that also. I think parafolk would have to have a home lot, but that could just be an empty lot as you said. I would definitely use shabby wallpaper/furniture! As for bills and electricity, I can see that being a natural part of the game. Although, I think I preferred the drama of the repo-man in the second instalment of the unnamed game – though that’s a characteristic of the franchise that Paralives should probably move away from just to be its own thing.

  • i’m thinking of starting off my first Para with a Rags to Riches challenge, i really want for their to be cheaper furniture and methods of transport (such as an old rusty bike instead of a car)

Yeah, that’s pretty much what I want too. The cheapest dump variatons for usable objects/textures to make objects look broken, bad paint etc.

An outdoor toilet would be nice. Like an outdoor toilet you dont flush with water – actually that could be also part of any eco living additions if they ever plan any of those.

  • I would love to have for my paras to be poor and homeless. I love that it is a bit harder and you have to be careful to satisfy the needs of a person and their family when they get one. I want it to be hard to succeed or at least that you have an option for that. I don’t want my paras to get a job and become rich during the next season (only in extreme cases if they’re lucky otherwise I want them to struggle and I want to put in hard work to make sure they survive).

I remember my sims in the sims 2, where that was the most possible, having only a small wall on which there were a shower and a toilet and next to the wall a small fridge. All of that the sim had to go to work for. And also paras wouldn’t always get accepted for a job especially without education and could only get part-time.

  • Yes, that would be pretty good, I like to play challenges like Rags to riches or Legacy Challenge.

  • Great idea! It would also be interesting if any parafolk can do it (even the rich ones!) as a way of collecting stuff. There’d be a collection that we have to complete and we get a prize at the end!

  • It would be cool if you could even have the option to start without funds/a lot…

    • <div>Good news! I wouldn’t call it “Confirmed” just yet, but it’s definitely promising.

  • I like this ideas and being able to rummage through dumpsters for items and food i also like the idea of collecting things like another mentioned above. Maybe homeless paras could collect items that could be of value and sell it for money. As for sleeping there’s also the option of paras being able to have their own sleeping bags or tents as an option for getting rest around the world.
I wish we could have paras be homeless without a lot i dont think it’ll be hard-I think it could work , Gamesdominos had a post up on public items which could make it feasible to live homeless without an empty lot. If public items become a part of the game that is. By making mattress or dirty looking mattresses to be public items the homeless could sleep on and use. It’d be kinda exclusive to them because it could be smell and appear dirty to other paras and they wouldnt go sleep on them for the obvious reason lol. It’d be cool if they could also sleep in abandoned/run down houses too.
