    • Thank you. I’ve tried to join these sessions but it tells me I need to claim my account before I can post. When I try to claim my account it says the e-mail is already in use – I can’t get out of that circle. Luckily a few of the posters feel the way I do so they post my opinions. It’s all good.

      • That sucks about your account 😒, but it’s great that other people have the same suggestions as you πŸ˜ƒHopefully by the next brainstorming you can get it working.

  • Here are two ideas which are fanfic arts I just created today. The first idea is how sectargy job applying panel could look.

This other picture is how I think a panel could work different each week for supply teacher/ The red days are the days they’re booked, but the black days are days they *could* be booked but currently aren’t. The only thing I couldn’t add was Morning/Afternoon symbols. The last one is an Long Term Occasional pop-up it’s not what I wanted it to look but it’s the best I could do

    Posted May 22, 2021 at 9:37 pm
    • Nice. You should post these to the Discord or Reddit as well if you haven’t already πŸ˜ƒ

  • Here’s some ideas:

Birthday parties can be themed all my b-day parties until I was in Gr.8 were all pool parties.

being able to have family bridal parties

Instead of learning to drive memory for paras who are eco friendly or for some reason can’t or don’t drive a “using public transit on my own for the first time” memory

Ordering/Eating out without family members for the first time

“Using my own money for the first time!”

    Disabled memories

when we get fuller disablities (not that disablities are confirmed) a couple of memories could be first time getting a service dog. Another memory is when you have to “retire” that service dog and get a new dog and the first time that happens can be very strefull for handlers

  • There is a new monthly brainstorming for town activities! I’m not sure why I can’t add the reddit post, but you guys can find it pinned at the top of the reddit page or just head to the discord.

Here are things they ask us to think about…

Which types of public lots would you like to see?

What are some town events and activities that you would like your Parafolks to participate in?

What should be the benefits of going out / exploring the town?

Should some household actions affect the whole community? If so, which ones and how?

    Posted July 28, 2021 at 5:02 am
    • Here’s what comes to my mind:

Public lots – restaurants, clothing stores, supermarkets, movie theaters, sports arenas, video arcades, swimming pools, beaches

Town events – fairs, concerts, competition (swimming, racing, baking, etc.)

Benefits – can win money, trophies, gain/lose popularity/reputation points, gain/lose skill points, promotion (if job related event), meet the neighbors

Actions affect community – cheating, divorce, marriage, birth – should affect paras who know them and should congratulate/snub them for a while at least a week.

      Posted July 29, 2021 at 9:23 am
      • All of this sounds great. I’d love to have town competitions πŸ˜ƒ

        Posted August 2, 2021 at 5:10 pm
  • Spring-festival: Children’s day: actitvies: egg hunting. food(?),<div>

Summer: (I get a Martimes feel with the lighthouse), either a water or boat festival. Water festival activies: swimming contests. Food: picnic

Fall actitvies: haunted house, carving pumpkins, food: Thanksgiving food maybe?

winter: Paralives’ version of Santa Claus parade. (Para families or groups can sign up to be on the float),

Founders’ day: Having people who can “do it the old fashion” way (fishing, etc) and having the younger generations see first hand. Also a scavenger hunt would be great for this day. And one of the foods items could be something that the kids (and older) could help make (Hint: you scream, I scream, we all scream for ?) with an old (?) maker.

    • maybe a mixed-age group of paras could put on town “plays”

      Posted August 5, 2021 at 3:18 am
      • I would LOVE this!

        Posted August 10, 2021 at 5:10 pm
        • just got another idea today

I got this idea for some town festivials that there could be an archery contest (some examples of town festivals where archery could be a contest: Founder’s Day, Maybe “Harvest fest” and a Medival/Ressiance Fair). And very skilled archers could do the Robin Hood slipt (ie: slippting someone’s else arrow into two). And other people from the discord suggested other archery challenges like shooting an arrow through 12 axes, and shooting an apple (hopefully with no kids, involved through!).

          Posted August 11, 2021 at 11:56 pm
          • I love all these ideas, especially the medieval fair but hope paras don’t walk around town in their costumes when the fair is over.πŸ˜’

      • No problem πŸ˜‡

        Posted September 29, 2021 at 11:03 pm
  • 🌡 Would you like to customize seasons and weather? If so, how?

being able to have a week of rain in the summer. I also would like to be able to maybe have a Southern Hempsire Christmas.

β›„ What visual changes would you like to see through seasons?

leaves changing/falling off tress for fall, snow for whatever the christmas-like event is, in winter, stuff blooming in the spring.

β˜” How would seasons & different weather conditions affect your Para’s daily life?

car-centric neighbours might not realize how important it is to shovel off their sidewalks. So if they don’t and the weather thaws &refreezes, it could lead to a walking para’s falling on the ice in front of the neighbour’s home. Snow Days for schools (please no virtual schooling!). It being too dangerous to go to school or work.

indoor recess on rainy or very cold days (unless you’re a kid from out west).

if a para has a long walk to go to in the rain or in the snow maybe depending on where they work or volunteer they can carry or leave an extra stash of clothes?

Paras sometimes might have to “fix” sewers by poking it by a stick if its clogged up with fallen leaves?

Blackouts due to snowstorm or the over-use of A/C in the summer here’s some thoughts about it:

    Blackout doc

πŸͺ Which specific interactions or activities would be unlocked only on certain weather conditions? baseball, should be a spring/summer thing. But most of the others could be year-round since you can apparently take them inside. Of course you can’t do a snow fight, or make a snow-person, without snow on the ground. or jump into puddles unless there’s thawed but not frozen water on the ground (or right after it rains)

🍧 Which seasonal items would you like to see? (I really have to try those pumpkin spice lattes)

I know this is mainly about food. But I want to say after-bite bug stuff and arnica gel to be used year-round for bug bites (after-bite) or bruises (arnica). The food stuff I wouldn’t mind either. But cold stuff (ie: ice coffee) can still be gotten in the cold months and hot stuff (normally coffee) in the hot months.

🧣 Any other suggestions regarding weather and seasons!

instead of rain boots maybe some paras can wear rubber duckies (and no I’m not talking about the yellow bathtub toy). As well as rain coats/umbrellas

I hope there’s a ton of candy for Halloween and other holidays and not just limited to one candy like in Sims 4

and also for “child’s day” (a version of Easter) if there’s egg hunt, could the eggs either a)be chocolate eggs or b)plastic eggs with chocolate inside?

For something like Christmas there could be an “holiday season” so there can be time for paras to go out and buy stuff that the para might like unlike in the Sims 4. I mean why would my artist para want a gift of perfume when she’s not a make-up artist?

    Posted October 3, 2021 at 9:20 pm
    • Love of these ideas!

Also, why would the para need to be a make-up artist to like perfume?

      Posted October 4, 2021 at 9:47 am
      • I just was using the perfume as an example. Since re-working on my 4th attempt of the Swanson Legacy,-on the one Olaffest day (Christmas in my sims’ univrise)-Hannah Swanson, an canvas artistic got a bunch of perfume for Christmas and she’s doesn’t like that

        Posted October 4, 2021 at 2:49 pm
        • Ah, got it.

Sounds like a real Christmas – getting lots of presents you don’t like, LOL.

    • I love a lot of your ideas, especially needing to clean snow off the car and driveway. That was one of my hopes as well. πŸ™‚

      Posted October 5, 2021 at 5:57 pm
      • the ice on the sidewalk was due to a fall I had last February (Feb 2020, not 2021)

        Posted October 13, 2021 at 8:38 pm
  • If a para’s family has an above ground and it’s fall time. Children/adult children who are brave enough can go into the pool and they might stay in there until their lips turn blue

      • you’re welcome!

        Posted November 30, 2021 at 6:49 pm
  • 🍎 What kind of food would you like to see in-game? kimchi, fritters, pergoies, different pasta dishes, corn, hot dogs/burgers, dumplings, soups, stir fry, humus, sides. baked goods (Cookies, cakes, brownies, cupcakes), ramyeon

πŸŽ‚ What would be the different ways to learn new recipes? learn it from a book, have it passed down to you, learn it from a friend’s/friend’s family,

πŸ“ What kind of classification could there be for food and meals? don’t sure but maybe have something which describes if it’s Vegertian or not. Or if there’s the ability to play with a Para who is allgeric to item, it could say if the item has (allgern) in it? (the only tricky thing would be if you have two paras allgeric to different kind of tomato- like one can eat Pasta scause but can’t eat like tomato on a burger, well another can’t eat pasta scause but can eat a tomato on a burger)

β˜• How could food and cooking impact the daily lives of Parafolks?- Para folks could have leftovers for supper later in the week if they make too much food, having “sides” with supper -ie corn muffins with chilli, or with made-at-home-pizza or taco dish, chips on the table, Paras could check the flyers for deals once there can be more then 1 grocery store in town? if a family has Rameyeon, and has an open chicken broth container in the fridge- and they out of normal chicken noodle soup, they could make a chicken soup with those two items for sick folks

🍴 What kind of activities related to food and cooking would you like to do?- be abing to make mutplie dishes at the same time- like having pasta scause in a different pot then the pasta noodles, or you’re trying to cook mashed potato/turnips/gravey all at the same time?, eatting more if they’re in a group setting, a “bring a cultural food(s) items to school day”?

πŸ“ What would be different ways to get new ingredients?-growing them, finding them in the wild, or buying them.

    Posted November 29, 2021 at 10:17 pm
  • You’ve covered a lot, thanks for sharing! I’d like to see all of what you said and other ethnic foods – Japanese, Caribbean, Spanish, Chinese (of course). It would be nice if we could indicate what background the paras have and have them know recipes particular to their place of birth and then they can teach them to their families and friends.

Cooking meals together would also be nice.

    Posted November 30, 2021 at 9:48 am
  • I got some more ideas last night after I posted what I did up above

    1. if para grandparents don’t live in the same house as the grandchildren -if the grandchildren’s family comes over to visit the grandparents (doing Winter holidays, and summer), if a grandparent is a big cooker- they might allow the para kid to put sugar on their cereal (I hope there’s a variety of junk cereal), as well as have kids have bacon and toast for breakfast

2.Para with dogs could put ham or turkey slices in the middle of the table instead of at the corner of the table so dogs who are in the dinning area with them, don’t help themselves to the meat.

3.there should be the option of “full turkey” at the table vs pieces of turkey” on a plate on the table.

4.Maybe some para families could use trivets for hot food and other para families can be a bit lazy and use pot holders?

5.Maybe Paras who get the newspaper that they can get A TV guide? And if there’s a show a para /para family likes to watch they can try to have supper early? (could also count, for something like bowling/or guiding or a meeting like PTA)

6.Oh if a para’s making multiple dishes for like a turkey holiday, maybe they could get a hand from another family member like have the other family member get pickles and olives out? Or maybe if its one of the many leftover turkey days afterwards have the family member also get leftover cranberry sauce out?

    7. I hope for a variety of different pop containers?

    Posted November 30, 2021 at 11:39 pm
  • I know some people would like the idea of only basic food being in the base game with updates coming late with other food . But everyone’s basic food is different. Like someone from North America’s breakfast might be a go-to meal, or might be a store-brought waffle, while a British person’s breakfast might be baked beans, toast, and I think eggs and maybe sausage for instance. And then in China, it depends on what part of China, like in Southern part of China, you will have rice, but in the Northern part you have noodles as the main part of the dish, And then in the middle east you have Fafel, Sharama, and don’t forget humus and chickpeas, then you have Mexican food, or South American food (and even then in Mexican/South American) you have different things depending on where you are.

And then you also have to take into account lifestyle (not life style as vegetarian/Vegan) but someone’s who is a stay-at-home parent, and their kids would have a different breakfast then an entire family who is go, go, go first thing in the morning with both parents needing to get to work, and children needs to get to school?
