  • Groceries?

What are people’s thoughts on having to buy groceries to cook. Maybe have microwave meals that are just available, but I think it feels a little cheapened to just spontaneously generate any ingredients needed to make a cake, or a soup, or whatever without shopping. Not a big deal at all to me, and definitely not high priority. But maybe each recipe to cook takes a couple ingredients, like to make a cake, you have to have eggs, flour, and sugar. Or bread needs flour and yeast. Or a parfait needs yogurt and a fruit. Salad needs lettuce and another veggie or fruit. Nothing too complex. But you can shop on your phone, or go to a store (rabbit holes is fine, maybe a menu pops up and you shop from that.) Again, not high priority at all, this is kinda nitpicky. It could be as in-depth or as simple as devs wanted. If cooking is a more fleshed out part of the game, there could be more customization. If not, maybe what I described above or even nothing at all. I’m just curious what people’s thoughts are.

  • I hadn’t thought about it, but needing to go out and buy groceries would be really fun. I’m imagining an option to send your para to the store and they’ll be there for about an hour and come home with food. I don’t know how feasible it would be in the base game (probably not very), but it would be really cool to have options about what kind of foods you buy (e.g. vegan, vegetarian, junk-food, high-end organics). I’d also love to have my para occasionally see their friends at the store. Needing to micromanage each separate food they get would be taxing, though.

    • That makes sense. Yeah, for buying individual groceries, not to compare to Sims, but I remember doing it in Sims 3, but you could also just pay money in kitchen to fill in the blanks and so shopping wasn’t really a necessity. So your right, it might be better to just generic “stock the fridge” once every so often.
