Future High school Semi-rabbithole Idea
August 29, 2019 at 8:58 pmI was thinking if there was a chance to be able to go to school with our paras maybe it could be a semi-rabbit hole school. I know some don’t really care about playable schools and like the university experience better and some do like the idea of playable high schools. So I was thinking what if there was a way to put the two together? For those who would like to. The entire school operating hours could just be four-five hours long in paratime (or longer) I’m just guessing an estimate.
I was also thinking if its not able to be in game, maybe there could be a script mod support in the future that lets us make our own high school playable lot or at least some buildings work as a school. With this schools would work more like a job where teen paras would have to enroll on the computer (just like adults would enroll for classes online for cooking in sims 3 then go to the location) I’m not sure how this would work but I’m sure some programmers in the Paraliveshub community could figure out a way or know how. Like the SIms 4 go to school mod but there’s a bell signaling classes start and end with objects more interactive. But back to my original idea…So for instance instead of making a whole school playable maybe only 4 rooms out of the whole building exterior would be. Students NPCs would all alternate and change throughout depending on the class and the year a para is in in high school. The main hallway would connect to all of the four rooms below but not including the gym. I think if it were possible maybe the rooms theme would change depending on the class (history,science,math,english,etc.) so every time you para’s class ended, a new theme would be set when they attended another. For example a para attends a english class this could just be an ordinary room with a blackboard then when that class ended, they go to chemistry and there would be counters to sit at with beakers and a projector screen. Picture ideas included
One Major Class
So that would mean one major class that you could go to with your para and interact inside the classroom.
Lunch
Would just be a cafeteria room with vending machines and a cafeteria hotbar food stand where they can get food.
Gym
Could be inside a building or an outside track with a football/soccer field in the middle or even a pool, where they can go exercise and sit on the bleachers.Hall Pass
Hall pass would be a break in between classes for paras that would just be a main hallway where they can hangout in the halls and socialize,go to the bathroom, and go to their lockers. The lockers would be temporary inventory for when they’re at school so all of their belongings (books or other things) would be transported there and at the end of the day it’d be an option to take things out of the inventory and put it back in the main inventory.
Library
Where paras can go do homework and study it could also be a place where paras could work on group assignments during school.
Ideas on object Interactions based on room
Different objects clicked on would allow your para to interact with them that includes talking or passing notes to other paras sitting around them.
Desk- take notes/do assignment/browse web on phone/write crushes name on desk/take test/cheat on test/
Books- work harder/ increase writing skill
Window- daydream
Projector/Whiteboard/teacher- pay attention/ raise hand/discuss/ask questions
Bulletin board- do extra credit/group project/sign up for after school electives
Beakers & chemistry objects: do experimentsThis could work for middle school too maybe only preteens go there vs teens who are in high school only.

I’d love the ability to have an interactive school in the way you’ve described. Something as in depth as this almost feels like an extra game inside of paralives, which is ambitious, but perfect for a mod or expansion in the future!
By the way, I love the artwork. -
Teens who ‘sign up for ‘home-ec” class could be assigned either a)egg, b)flour c)a doll which is pre-programed to act like a real baby.
With the egg or flour baby you have to take the baby every where and if you don’t want to take the baby you have to arrange for a baby-sitter

Yeah if its possible I think itd be nice to have a list of events that we could choose to have for schools on top of events that happen every year. That way there’s something new for students to do each semester and for us as players its not being repetitive.

Most definitely it’d be better as an expansion, I wouldn’t want nor expect this to be in the base game or too earlier on in Paralives youth release. If it came out much later it’d give devs time to really experiment what would or wouldn’t be possible. But if it doesn’t become in the game at all I’d love to try and work with others who make mods once they become supported because it’d be cool to have. We def need more sports! 🙂 Itd be fun to see swim team or have little football games nights
