  • Deterioration of buildings and objects

I don’t know if this was already brought up here, but I think it would add to the realism of the game if buildings and objects could deteriorate.

Caused by weather, use over time, misuse etc. Buildings would look old and the Paras would have to hire professionals do repair jobs or if they are handy, they can do the jobs themselves. In the home, you would start seeing cracks in the wall, have creaky floorboards, doors coming off hinges etc. It would be great if we could actually see them do the interaction that matches the repair. Not only houses but also community lots. The Paras could pay tax that would go toward the repair of the buildings and they can apply to help fix the neighborhood to make some extra money.

It is not only visual, but it affects the Paras as well. For example, old objects could have unpleasant smells and the Para will react to that. The Para could opt to sell the objects (thrift store opportunity) and purchase new or repair/refurbish. The state of their house and items could affect their mood depending on their personality.

Also, the way other Paras think about each other is also influenced. For example if Para A has a deteriorated house Para B, who is very empathetic, will feel sorry for Para A. But Para C who is a ‘snob’ will look down on Para A. This may or may not affect the relationship between Paras.

What do you guys think? Any other ideas related to this?

  • I would love to see paras change into overalls, take out their tool kits and start working on walls. If the para is in the construction career, it would take him less time to do the work than someone who is not as skilled.
