I was like : Paralives is literally out of the box (grid) ><
I’m not too fond with the graphics so I hope some passionate artists to volunteer and join Alex! But either way the gameplay is already promising as it is.

Simmer since 2000, so excited to see this game come to life in the near future, and offer out some long over-due competition.

I had initially been hoping someone would make a game like sims for a few years now. I’ve always wanted to make a game but i lack the talent in that area haha, But last year especially I was looking for a game like sims or similar because I was getting more and more disappointed with the building tools in sims 4 when I wanted to bring a house vision I had in mind to life and I just couldn’t, and gameplay just wasn’t like it had been in previous Sims games. So when I found Paralives I immediately got excited over the building tools (I’m a heavy house and character creator) and hoped it wouldn’t be a project that would eventually be abandoned because I see so much potential and a vision put into it already. So far I love what I’ve seen, though I still am skeptical a little bit as far as character design will be and how much more building tools are we free to play with and use including what the gameplay entails. But time will tell all which I’m so looking forward to! But I’m really excited for how Paralives is going and being apart of the community 🙂 <3

My initial thought is that I hope that this game is super open to customization and modding from the community. This might be hard to actually make work right (mods always cause conflicts), but if this is such a ground-up project by one person, I think that might be the only way for this to really work.
(…) I often found myself Googling things like “The Sims needs a competitor” just to see if other people shared my feelings. I was so happy to see Paralives, although I was a tiny bit sceptical at first but I really wish to see this game succeed so I decided to build this website to give the fans another place to hang out and keep the fire burning.
The more I learned about Paralives the less sceptical I became. The features and art I’ve seen so far looks beautiful. I truly believe this will become the next big life sim. And for the record, my wishes are NOT for The Sims to die out but for it to be driven forward by competition, not monopolise an entire genre like it is.
I love how crowdsourced this seems to be! People just learning about the project and offering to help in whatever way they can. I don’t really have much of any skills to offer, but I do intend on supporting monetarily (although I have to get a full-time job first!) I wholeheartedly agree that I don’t want the Sims to die out. I actually got a tattoo of the plumbbob a few years back, so the last thing I want is for that to happen. However, I think competition would do EA some good. Let’s just hope that they don’t just give up like they did with SimCity.
(…) I think this game is more focused on building which I love, so I don’t think we should delve too deep into the customisation of the people and I don’t think they should have their own language because that seems to similar to the sims to me. (…)
I have to disagree with you there! I hope there is a fake language that comes out of it. I don’t want to hear the Parafolk saying the same lines over and over again. I also think the name alludes to the idea that it’s going to be primarily a life simulator. However, time will tell. I’m not the one making the game! Parabuilder would be a better name if that were the case, though.Posted September 19, 2019 at 9:18 pm -
Alex has 3 main focuses for the game, building, character creation and gameplay, so no it won’t be just a building simulation. The game is still in a pre-alpha phase, which means many things are still not done. It is better to work on one thing at a time, at least mainly, for it to be polished. He is working on the character design, and it will be revealed in the upcoming months. Gameplay will come after that.
On the topic of the language, they won’t have their own language, but something similar to animal crossing. It wouldn’t be possible for Alex to do a whole new language, like simlish, because he definitely don’t have the funding nor the time to spend on that.

I discovered Paralives while scrolling down some of Seri Pixel Biologists Videos’s comments to which she then made a video about, so i decided to learn more about it. I first learned about the Discord chat, and since i’d never been on Discord before and sometimes heard about it, i decided to make an account and i was AMAZED at how many people were online and chatting, i then discovered ParalivesHub 🙂 i was captivated by the style and searched for videos on youtube about this New game, at first i had a tiny feeling at the back of my brain that this could go downhill because of the pressure the creator might feel, or if he felt like he had to rush the game and then it came out to be just as Half-Hearted as the Sims 4. But after being on the Discord chat for a while and tracking the game’s progress i’m convinced Alex can pull this off with a couple more people to help him 😉

Agreed! @PlyPlay665 🙂 Fake language could take more time to implement but it would be better than phrases repeated over and over. Also every spoken language would need to be translated into multiple languages.
People have suggested they speak in “musical chimes” but I really don’t like that idea 😮 So, I think a fake language or mumbles with speech bubbles is the only solution.

My initial thoughts are that I will most definitely be trying this game out, no matter what! It looks really good and you can easily see how the developer, Alex, is definitely clued up about what people actually want in a game like this, unlike EA who seem to have lost the plot with Sims 4.
I’m very excited for Paralives! Very much so.

I would too, but also INDIE. I wonder though if Alex would make their own music for it or try and do what the sims did?

Can we download the game Paralives? I understand we have to pay for it but I have google chrome and can’t buy the game without downloading it.

The game isn’t out yet. When it is out, you’ll pay a 1 time price for the base game (like Sims) and then you’ll be able to download it and install it.Posted September 30, 2019 at 11:36 pm -
Things I want in the game
1. Judicial system/ prison
2.natural disasters
3.go to school with our parafolk like in sims 3 university
4. COUNTRIES!!!
I feel like you should be able to go to prison and actually play in there. Like if your Parafolk gets caught stealing they can go to court and if convicted they go to prison and you can keep playing maybe they could escape, make friends, make enemies, whatever we want. What would make the game more realistic would have to be natural disasters like tornadoes, hurricanes, flooding. For example if a tornado was coming your parafolk could evacuate/pack up and leave to somewhere safe like a relative.
I also feel like we NEED to be able to go to the school with our kids and play inside the school like maybe start a food fight in the cafeteria, go to class, skip school, play in the courtyard, go to the library. I would just absolutely love to go to school with my parafolk like in sims 3 university (of course I would want elementary school, middle, and high)
Another thing that would really too this game off would be countries!! I would love to able to travel wherever I want to experience the culture and people. And we should be able to live in any country we like. For example Brazil, America, France, South Korea, Japan.

I am absolutely ecstatic about Paralives.
For almost a decade now I’ve used The Sims to build houses and neighbourhoods for my stories, RPs, and other fictional worlds. The Sims 2 was the best for me, but I made do with The Sims 3 and 4 as well. I don’t think I could ever go back to using pre-Sims 4 build tools though, which is why I’m so psyched for Paralives.
What I do is go onto eplans.com, find a house, and recreate it the best I can in The Sims 4 Build Mode. Unfortunately I can only do so much though, so sometimes proportions get messed up. But I’m hoping that won’t be a problem with Paralives.
I’m not very concerned with the live mode, since I plan on using the game mostly for building, but I still hope it turns out well of course.
Eeeeee I’m just so excited about this whole thing!!! >w<
