It is possible to keep a legacy house in the family until the legacy children are ready to move back in. This can be done by having a family member, such as a grandparent, aunt or uncle, take on the responsibility of maintaining the house until the children are ready to move in. It may be necessary to have a legal agreement in place to ensure that the house is not sold or rented out while it is being maintained. The family could also hire a caretaker to make sure that the house is in good condition and that it remains secure. Additionally, the family could set up a trust or other financial arrangement to ensure that the house is taken care of until the children are able to move in.
